Additional records from the first half of 2002 included counts of 224 Dalmatian Pelican Pelecanus crispus at Buyuk Menderes Delta, on 2 February, 273 at Lake Marmara, on 3 February, and 665 at Gediz Delta, on 5 February 2002. Totals of 9524 Greater Flamingo Phoenkop'en's ruber were at Buyiik Menderes Delta on 2 February and 19,656 at Gediz Delta on 5 February 2002. On 20 January there were 715 Mute Swan Cygnus olor, 96 Whooper Swan C. cygnus and a Bewick's Swan C. bewickil at Lake Gala, and Red-breasted Geese Branta ruficollis included 39 at Goksu Delta on 5 January 2002, nine at Lake Tuzia on the same day, an exceptional 80 at Btiyukcekmece on 19 January, and 57 at Nallihan Kuscenneti on 27 January 2002. An Osprey Pandion hailaetus at Lake Tuzia on 5 January 2002 was present on an unusual date and 'dozens' of Little Crake Porzano paroa at Lake Mogan in March-April 2002 perhaps suggests unusually heavy passage. A flock of 200 Knot Calidris canutus at Lake Tuzia on 2 February 2002 was also exceptional, as was a report of a Terek Sandpiper Xenus cinereus at Goksu Delta on 5 January 2002.
