There was a report of a frigatebird Fregata sp. at Daba, on the Red Sea coast, on 23 April 2004. An early passage of Eleonora's Falcon Falco eleonorae was noted, with records on 31 March (two birds) and singles on 2 and 4 April 2004 at Ain Sukhna, Gulf of Suez, with a single at Saqqara, Giza Governorate, on 5 April 2004. Two Demoiselle Cranes Anthropoides virgo were at Hurghada on 29 April 2004 and a single at Wadi El Gemal on an unknown date in spring. A Slender-billed Curlew Numenius tenuirostris was reported at Hamata mangroves on 20 March 2004. Little Swift Apus affinis is a rare passage migrant, but one was at Zamalek, Cairo, on 26 May 2004. An Ethiopian Swallow Hirundo aethiopica was reported on the Red Sea coast at Shams Alam, on 19 March 2004. Two Caucasian Stonechat Saxicola torquatus variegatus and one S. t. armenicus were at Nabq on 14-16 March 2004.
